My Favorite Things (TV that is)

(This post is especially for Shanle and Carrie) I love television!! I even love reality shows- "The Apprentice", "Survivor", "The Bachelor", etc. I remember watching shows like "Magnum PI" and the "Love Boat" when I got home from school in the afternoons. When I was in college, we would watch "Days of Our Lives" every day at lunch. My roommate, Kristi, and I would plan our schedules around it. Now that "Friends" and "Seinfield" are a thing of the past, I have to find new, fun shows to watch. Seeing how I ususally only watch TV 1-2 nights per week, it is necessary to find a good show that I can sit back and enjoy.
One of my TV nights is Monday nights. Shanle and I will sit down and watch "Wildfire" and "Beautiful People" on ABCFamily and then "Laguna Beach". To me, shows like "Laguna Beach" are my replacement for soap operas. High school drama is so much fun, isn't it. Especially when you have been out of school for 10 years and can see what those people will turn into. Girls, like Jessica who is so argumentative because she is insecure. Does she ever have a conversation with Jason where she doesn't argue with him? She will always be an "arguer". Jason will always have commitment issues and will continue to cheat on his girlfriends. Kristen will always "just want to have fun" and will have a hard time committing as well. LC will always be in love with Stephen and may let a good thing pass her by as she waits on him. Aah, the drama. It just goes to show that we are all the same, whether we grow up in Laguna Beach, CA or in Sharon, TN. People are people and they are so much fun to watch. :)

"LOST" Party

The "Lost" party was a lot of fun!! I can't wait until Wednesday night. Here is Claire (Arynda) and Loche (Dustin) as they are reinacting Claire's baby being taken by the French woman... Don't worry Claire, you'll get your baby back.

"LOST" Returns

6 days and counting... till "Lost" season 2 begins. I am so excited, I can't wait!!! For those of you who have not been exposed to the twists and turns of "Lost", let me say that you are truly missing out. Watching each episode makes you actually think and you watch every detail on the show for some type of clue or association.

My favorite episode in the first season was "Numbers" which highlights Hurley and his winning lotto numbers. After you watch that, you see the numbers reappear again and again. There are other reoccurrences within the show- the use of black and white, the fact that all the main characters had issues with their fathers, etc. I love watching the episode with friends and then rehashing all the clues and inuendos on the show.

Tonight, we are having a "Lost" party. We are going to watch last season's finale and the bonus footage from the DVD's. The big questions for the second season is:
What is really behind the hatch?
What is the black rock?
Will they be able to save Walt?

I can hear the music playing now. . .

Good Times

I am going over to my friend, Allison's house tonight to play cards. I met Allison last year through the Junior League of Knoxville. She is going to teach myself and our friend Christy a new card game tonight. I am really looking forward to it, especially since this may be the last time I see them before I move to Memphis. We were trying to recall the other day how we got to be friends through Junior League, along with Chastity and Allison. However it happened, I'm glad to have gotten to know these girls. :)

Update: Dinner last night was so much fun. We never made it to playing cards. Instead, we talked for 2 1/2 hours about live, jobs, husbands, etc. How much fun!!! Thanks girls.

Just Looking

I have heard about blogging for over a year and recently had some friends to start blogging. I thought I would give it a try, so here it goes. . . My name is Betsy Brasher. I live (for about 2 1/2 more weeks) in Knoxville, Tennessee. I am 29 and have not yet met the man of my dreams. I am a Christian and attend Sevier Heights Baptist Church. I have been so blessed in my life (which I will gladly share later) and yet, I often take for granted the many blessings I have received.

The picture to the left is of me (on left) along with my good friends Shannon and Shanle (my roommate). We were in New York City for a church choir tour in June. It was so much fun!! I will share more. . . soon, very soon.
